Roquetaillade is not a museum but is still a family home
and is active all year round.
Many things have happened at Roquetaillade in the last 700 years and both family and building have evolved. Today the main object is to preserve the building and the historical work of Viollet le Duc. To do this the castle is open to the public since 1956. Also there continues a Graves wine production and breeding activity of Bazas cattle.
Roquetaillade is also a bird refuge for endangered specie.
